| She was born Sherry Lombell Aceves on November 9, 1973, in Mexico City. The Lombell family was a Catholic family of six children: two boys and four girls. Sherry was the eldest of the girls. She spent her childhood and adolescence in Guadalajara, until she entered the Oasis convent in Spain on October 11, 1992. | ||
| She made her profession on July 25, 1995 and took the name of Sister Maria Sherry of the Mother of God. In December of 1997, she was appointed Mistress of Novices. | ||

| "On October 11, 1997, she made her vow of victim to the
most Merciful Love of Jesus, offering her life for the Pope, for priests,
and for all the consecrated souls in the world." (The Simplicity of a
Life, page 66) God soon answered her request for suffering. In January
of 1998, she began to feel pain in one leg and then in both legs until she
was unable to get out of bed. Finally in April, after months of tests and
analyses, the doctors discovered the cause: cancer throughout her entire
body. Her condition was terminal. Sister Maria Sherry made her perpetual vows on April 27, 1998 and spent the last three months of her life at her beloved Oasis. They were three months of terrible pain but at the same time of purification and sanctification of her soul, and of reparation and petition for religious vocations. |

| At last, Sister Maria Sherry left this world on July 29,
1998, after offering her final sufferings for the Pope and for all the
priests and religious in the world. She was "the first flower of the
Oasis" who this day continues to intercede before God for those who
ask her help. Sister Maria Sherry of the Mother of God, pray for us! |
